June District Councils via ZOOM

June District Councils

As much as I would have liked to return to some normalcy, it is not feasible to hold our June District Councils in-person so we are going to hold them via Zoom.  Many of you are already using the internet to meet with family, friends and business associates so, hopefully, this will not be too difficult for you.  Current Presidents will receive an invitation to the District Council and then in about one week before the Council you will receive an email with log in information with instructions for joining the meeting.  This information is to be shared with any of your members who would like to attend.  I look forward to seeing you on my computer.

Soles4Souls

I received this challenge from Soles4Souls.  NJSFWC has collected and donated 15,308 pairs of shoes and we are currently in second place with Tennessee only a few thousand pairs ahead of us.  So, as we keep busy cleaning out our closets set aside those shoes for donation.

New Jersey has been offered the opportunity to join the Adopt-a-Bin program to provide safe contactless drop-off points for your drive.

The bin is designed to be placed outdoors so your community can donate directly to your club drive without your members having to touch the shoes.  Soles4Souls takes care of the bin, including permits and fees.  All you need to do is find a place for the bin. For more information call Lizzy, 615-598-7311.

Operation Chillout–Special State Project

Registry Update-Here is the link to purchase items through the registry- operationchillout.org.  When checking out, put your club name in the Business line (under your name) and then again in the notes.  Thank you in advance for your participation in this project.

We would like the clubs to make little note cards that will accompany the items on the gift registry. They MUST be small, the size of a business card. No Envelopes! These cards need to fit into their pockets which are not very big. They will not only go to Homeless Veterans but all homeless in need. Consider making these notes. They could be red, white and blue. Be creative. Put expressions like “Thinking of You”.

PLEASE make them very generic. No religious comments of any kind.

They can be mailed to Operation Chillout, P.O. Box 353, Long Valley, NJ 07853 or you can call Col. Ted Sattur for pick up. 973-868-0453.
