GFWC Jennie Award

The GFWC Jennie Award honors one clubwoman from each GFWC Region for outstanding commitment to club, community, and family.

Congratulations to Marie Sullivan, member of the Woman’s Club of Paramus for being named the Jennie winner from New Jersey! Marie was honored at the Mid Atlantic Region conference, held in Rehoboth DE in September.

The GFWC Jennie Award:

  • Recognizes outstanding clubwomen for personal excellence and commitment to family, GFWC, and community. ​
  • Named after GFWC founder Jane Cunningham Croly, who wrote under the pseudonym Jennie June. ​
  • Clubs nominate one member for the award, which is evaluated at state, regional, and national levels. ​

Judging Criteria

  • Commitment to Family: Nominee should demonstrate ongoing support for family members, regardless of family structure. ​
  • Commitment to GFWC: Nominee must have a strong record of involvement and leadership within her club. ​
  • Commitment to Community: Service should address community needs beyond club activities, showcasing innovative volunteer work.
