Newsletters

Since I receive so many of your newsletters I thought I might share what some of the clubs are doing.

The Woman’s Club of West Deptford is having a Crazy Sock Exchange for fun and creativity during their holiday dinner party at the Kitchen 519 restaurant. Each member will buy a pair of funky, garishly colored or patterned socks and stuff them with an assortment of small treats and items. The SOCKS can be creative, artsy, striped, plaids, poke-a-dot, glittery, patterned, embellished, ugly, seasonal, funny, or cute. You can be creative and sew or glue more onto your SOCKS. How about snowflakes, emojis, or holiday themed SOCKS?

Next, they fill/stuff the SOCKS with small inexpensive items or an assortment of small treats. Suggestions are wrapped candy, lip balm, tin of mints, nail file, pocket calendar, small note tablet, pen, and so on. They spend $10 to a max of $15 as a total value including the SOCKS and fillers. They then tie the SOCKS together with a bow.

Day of Service

As we approach the Day of Service, I hope club members are embracing this project to help the clients of Covenant House and bring some cheer into their lives with cards and gift cards. As an extra bonus we will be making no sew blankets just in time for the cold season. In the upcoming weeks we will report on how many gift cards were collected and how many cards were made in each District.

Veterans Day

Is your club participating in any Veteran’s Day events? Be sure to share your pictures on Facebook and considering entering them in the Volunteers in Action contest. Send photos to facebook@njsfwc.org
