What are the registration fees at council and other meetings used for?

The $3 registration fee from District Council meetings goes into the Headquarters Maintenance Fund.

Registration fees from Achievement Day – Arts Creative and Environment  – 1/2 goes to the Arts Department (Fine Art/Art History Fellowship) and the other 1/2 goes to the Environment Department Projects (Science-Natural/Applied, Batsto Nature Center, Greenbrook Sanctuary, Blackledge-Kearney House).  If only one contest is held, the proceeds go entirely to that Community Service Program.

Program Assistance Day – 2/3 go to Headquarters Maintenance Fund, 1/3 goes to Program Assistance.

Civic Engagement & Outreach Day – 1/2 of proceeds to to Political Science Fellowship and the other 1/2 goes to the Veterans Hospitals (East Orange, Menlo Park, Lyons, Paramus, Vineland)

Performing Arts Festival – 1/3 goes to Drama Fellowship, 1/3 to Journalism/English and Walt Whitman Library, 1/3 goes to MacDowell Colony and Meta Thorne Waters/Doris Lauden Praino Fellowship

Creative Writing Days – 1/2 goes to Journalism/English Fellowship and 1/2 goes to Walt Whitman Library.

For Everyone’s Information –  A motion was presented at the June Board of Directors Meeting that the Registration fee be raised to $5.  The motion passed unanimously.  This change will start in September 2022.  Registration fee at September’s District Council Meeting will be $5 per person.
