eConnection 9/1: NJSFWC Convention, GFWC Convention & Other News
by Jan W. Hanson, NJSFWC President
NJSFWC Annual Convention Update
Bally’s is unable to host our Convention in April 2022, therefore, we will be moving to the Tropicana. We will not be in the same tower as the Summer Conference, but in the North Tower which is closer to the Boardwalk, the casino and the main lobby. There is also one more major change. The Convention will start on Sunday, April 24th and conclude on Tuesday, April 26th. So please change your calendars.
GFWC Convention
We had 19 members from New Jersey attend the GFWC Convention. A few highlights – the Resolution from New Jersey on training first responders on how to approach people with mental health issues passed.
We won awards for our reports in Civic Engagement and Outreach, Women’s History and Resource Center, Legislation and Public Policy, Fundraising and Development, Juniorette Participation-Arlington Juniorettes, Boys Charity Group, Princeton Area Juniorettes, Long Valley Juniorettes, two awards for Youth Poetry and one award for Youth Short Story, and Signature Program Fundraising Achievement-Tenth Place, Woman’s Club of Parsippany-Troy Hills and Third Place, Woman’s Club of Maplewood. Congratulations to 2nd Vice President, Barbara McCloskey, the Program Chairmen and the Clubs that reported for all of their hard work and effort.
