Reporting Update Part 1

by Jan Hanson, NJSFWC President

Where has International Outreach gone?

GFWC has renamed and realigned the Community Service Programs for the 2020-2022 Administration.

This will not affect what projects or programs that your club completes! The changes will determine where they are placed for report writing purposes.

Although the International Outreach Community Service Program category has been discontinued, all of the projects still exist! They have just been relocated into other Community Service program departments.  On that note, the new GFWC programs are now called:

ARTS AND CULTURE (formerly Arts Creative) where you will find:

  • Celebrate Hot Tea Month in January and learn about the history of tea from Chinese legends.
  • Host an International Dinner Party, choosing a county or region as a theme.

ENVIRONMENT (formerly Conservation) where you will find International Wildlife Conservation.

EDUCATION AND LIBRARIES (formerly Education) where you will find supporting overseas schools.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS (formerly Home Life) where you will find:

  • Shot for Life
  • UNICEF
  • Operation Smile

CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND OUTREACH (formerly Public Issues) where you will now find:

  • Support “Free the Girls” with a “Bras and Brews” event.
  • Heifer International.

These are just a few examples.  You will be receiving additional information regarding where your projects should be reported.  Please continue working on your projects and keeping your statistics.

ARTS PERFORMING PROJECT

The Arts Performing  Community Service Program wants all our clubs to collect 500 DVDS and/or CDs to be donated to Senior Centers, Care Centers, Retirement Homes or Veteran’s Homes. Go through your collection over the summer and when the time is right, deliver them to one of the aforementioned groups in your area. This can be either a club project or individual project.  Please check ahead of time to find out the facility’s needs.

Don’t forget to keep records of your donations for your club’s annual report. The Arts Performing Program hopes to see the amount of 500 donated.

Note: All DVDs and CDs should be suitable for adults.
