AWARDS
Nominations for the NJSFWC Women of Achievement awards and judging have been completed.  Winners will be notified soon.  The deadline for Cecilia Gaines Holland nominations is February 1, 2023 – one week away.  Current membership in a NJSFWC club is a requirement.  This award recognizes community involvement outside of club work.

A club woman can actually be nominated for either or both recognitions.  Be sure to refer to the NJSFWC website for specific information on criteria and submission of nominations for the Cecilia Gaines Holland award.  Questions should be directed to Jill McDonald 856-234-0253 or mcdonald@njsfwc.org.

ACHIEVEMENT DAY

Achievement Day is a day to encourage club members to show off their talents to others who will appreciate their efforts and enjoy seeing what others can do.

It is hoped that members will be inspired to enter their favorite or best efforts with crafts and cooking to share the knowledge and enjoyment with their friends.  Categories in the Arts & Culture Achievement Day include handmade items of jewelry, needlecraft (knitting, crochet, sewing, paper crafts (scrapbooks, cards, flowers, etc.), holiday decorations, bird cages, painting and drawing, and photography.  For anyone interested in these activities, your other club members (local and statewide) would enjoy seeing what you have done.  There are three levels: for beginners, advanced (previous winners) and professional (if you sell items), so you will only compete at your level of experience.  Items must have been created in the previous calendar year, in this case, 2022.

The Environment Achievement Day contests are divided into two divisions: Artistic Design and Horticulture. All entries must be pre-registered with the District Environment Chairman, two weeks prior to the District Achievement Day. Contact the District Environment Chairman wisner@njsfwc.org to determine the pre-registration deadline for your district.  All entries must be the work of the clubwoman. Only ONE entry per clubwoman in each class. Only ONE entry per clubwoman in each category/subcategory Entry must be completed within the past year. Entry may not have been entered in a previous Federation contest.

There is no charge to enter, this is primarily for enjoyment and a chance to meet other members with similar talents and interests.  Bragging rights are also included.

As of January 31 the Body Shop is closing their business.  Don’t miss an opportunity to take advantage of their great sales.  Now is a good  time to stock up for yourself and purchase items for the upcoming holidays.  Valentine’s Day is right around the corner.  Happy Shopping
