Community Impact Program

The Community Impact Program was first introduced in 1949 as a “Build a Better Community Contest.” It is GFWC’s longest standing project, and is designed to highlight grassroots efforts that make a difference and improve the community.

As you gather information for your year-end reports, consult the NJSFWC website to view contest rules and deadlines and the GFWC entry form. It will be more convenient to complete the form at the same time as year-end reports when all the information is at hand.

The contest period is for projects carried out between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2025.

The project should be an original or updated version of a project that solves a community need, projects typically carried out by every one of our clubs, often in partnership with others in the community. It is not one more project, but one your club has been working on and is already reporting in a year-end report program area.

GFWC provides a $100 award for the state winner, and the winning entry will be forwarded to compete for a $2,500 GFWC national award.

Contest rules, deadlines, and the GFWC entry form are available on the NJSFWC website under Materials. IMPORTANT: Entries must be received by the NJSFWC State Chairman by February 15, 2026.

Remember, the size and scope of the project are not the criteria, even the smallest project can make a substantial impact.

For questions, email the State CIP Chairman, Jean Battaglia, battaglia@njsfwc.org.
