NJSFWC Featured in GFWC’s “News and Notes”

Check out the weekly GFWC News & Notes, and the article regarding our Special State Project. See below.

Just as you can sign up for the NJSFWC weekly eConnection, you can register for the weekly GFWC News & Notes. Both a benefit of membership.

In New Jersey, clubs vote for a project, and a committee headed by the president-elect interviews a variety of nonprofits to be selected for the state’s featured cause. The special state project for GFWC New Jersey during this administration is supporting the New Jersey Children’s Alliance.

New Jersey Children’s Alliance promotes hope, healing, and justice for victims of child abuse throughout New Jersey by supporting Child Advocacy Centers through training, resources, advocacy, and leadership.

Their goal is for every child abuse victim in New Jersey to have access to the hope and healing provided by the full range of quality, comprehensive, coordinated, and evidence-informed services offered by Child Advocacy Centers. Since not all child advocacy agency locations can take donations directly, our in-kind donations go directly to their main headquarters.

As these children go through their journey, many things are needed, such as backpacks for the first day of school. Our clubs came through in August 2024 with over 700 filled backpacks, 628 of them at our headquarters building!

Fundraising is also a component of our special state project, and we are in the planning stages of some district and state events. A special state project pin has been created to boost fundraising efforts. We’ve also encouraged clubs to hold individual fundraisers for this worthwhile project.
